African Alliance Insurance Holds AGM December 13

The board of African Alliance Insurance Plc has announced its intention to hold its 49th Annual General Meeting (AGM) next month.

A statement made available by the firm said the AGM will precisely take place on Wednesday, December 13, 2017, at 10am in Enugu.

The meeting, scheduled to hold at the Universal Hotel at Plot 3, Aguleri Street, Independence Layout, Enugu State, will consider financial statements for 2015 and 2016.

“Notice is hereby given that the 49th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of African Alliance Insurance Plc will be held at Universal Hotel at Plot 3, Aguleri Street, Independence Layout, Enugu State on Wednesday, December 13, 2017, at 10am,” the statement read.

It was further disclosed that during the meeting, the company’s shareholders will “receive the report of the directors and the audited financial statements for the years ended December 31, 2015, and December 31, 2016, together with the reports of the auditors and the audit committee thereon.”

Furthermore, participants will re-elect Mr Anthony Okocha, who was appointed as a non-executive director in accordance with Article 125 of the Articles of Association of the company which provides for retirement by rotation.

Also, the shareholders will “approve the remuneration of directors” and as well “ratify the appointment of the audit firm of Akintola Williams Deloitte as the company’s auditors.”

It was further stated that the company’s shareholders will vote to “authorise the directors to appoint and fix the remuneration of the auditors and to elect members of the audit committee.”
