The management of News Express has disclosed that its 5th Anniversary Lecture will hold in Lagos next month.

Publisher of the news platform, Mr Isaac Umunna, said in a statement that several dignitaries in Nigeria would attend the event.

The News Express Anniversary Lecture is an annual programme that is always anticipated by many, especially news gatherers because of the array of personalities and issues discussed.

Mr Umunna promised that this year’s lecture would not fall short of expectations, but said the precise date “would be made public in the next few days.”

He also assured that “a galaxy of personalities whose identities would be unveiled in due course” would attend the programme this year.

Giving an insight on how the reputable platform started, Mr Umunna said, “News Express started operation in a modest way in late August 2012 but, by the grace of God, has grown phenomenally to become one of Nigeria’s most popular and influential newspapers. We, therefore, see reason to celebrate.”

According to him, News Express is currently read by upwards of 300,000 people across the world and records traffic of about 100 million hits per annum.

This, he said, “is quite remarkable considering that News Express is not a tabloid but a serious newspaper.”

Mr Umunna said “apart from our choice of stories, we do not, as a policy, publish nῡde photos and dead bodies. It is a paper for decision makers and can be read by both young and old.”
