On Thursday afternoon, the Archbishop of Canterbury, Mr Justin Welby, paid a courtesy visit to President Muhammadu Buhari.
The Nigerian leader has been in London for over a month now and has not been seen by most of his countrymen, who are desperately waiting to hear from him.
Since he left the shores of Nigeria on January 19, 2017 for vacation in London, he has not left the Queen’s country despite earlier scheduling his return for February 5, 2017.
On the day he was expected back in Nigeria, the President wrote to the National Assembly, seeking its approval to stay abroad indefinitely until he was fit to return.
Initially, his whereabouts was a thing of concerns to some Nigerians, but they seem to have forgotten about him since his Vice, Mr Yemi Osinbajo, has been filling the space for him. For now, talks about his return has reduced.
On Thursday, the Nigerian Government announced the visit of Mr Welby to the President at the Abuja House in London and from the photographs, Mr Buhari was looking frail.
Before now, the President’s media aides had denied news that Mr Buhari was sick, but they later changed voice, admitting he was still in London awaiting test results conducted on him by his doctors.
