Monday, December 26, 2016 and Tuesday, December 27, 2016 have been declared as public holidays by the Federal Government to mark the Christmas and Boxing Day celebrations.
Also declared as public holiday by the FG is Monday, January 2, 2017, to celebrate New Year day.
A statement issued by the Minister of Interior, Mr Abdulrahman Bello Dambazau, enjoined all Christian faithful and Nigerians in general to remain committed and supportive of the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari, in his sustained efforts towards building a peaceful, united and prosperous nation.
Mr Dambazau, also in the statement issued today, urged Nigerians to use the occasion to pray for peace, unity and peaceful co-existence across the country.
He wished all Nigerians at home and abroad, a Merry Christmas and prosperous New Year.
