Ex-Minister Bola Kuforiji Olubi Is Dead

A former Minister of Commerce and Industry, Dr Bola Kuforiji-Olubi, has been reported dead by an online platform, The Elites.

The former Minister, 80, was said to have breathed her last on Saturday morning in Lagos.

As at the time of filing this report, we could not confirm the cause of her death.

Recently, the deceased visited President Muhammadu Buhari, where she thanked him for his contribution to her success story.

Mrs Kuforiji-Olubi acknowledged the President for appointing her the first female Chairman of United Bank for Africa (UBA) in 1984 during his reign as a military Head of State.

“Having turned 80, I looked at my life and made a list of those who contributed to what I have become in my life and the name of President Muhammadu Buhari came topmost on the list. This is why I am here to pay my respect and thank him,” the deceased had said.

Mrs Kuforiji-Olubi, born September 28, 1936, was a former president of ICAN.
