Buhari Ready To Present 2017 Budget

All is now set for the presentation of the 2017 appropriation bill to a joint session of the National Assembly.

According to the Minister of Budget and National Planning, Mr Udoma Udo Udoma, the budget would be presented to the federal lawmakers by President Muhammadu Buhari anytime soon.

Mr Udoma said the President would write a letter to the National Assembly, informing them when he would make the presentation.

The Minister also said the budget has already been studied by the Federal Executive Council (FEC) and approved.

“The budget has been approved by the Federal Executive Council. The details of course will be revealed when the President presents the budget to the National Assembly,” Mr udoma told newsmen after the FEC meeting on Wednesday.

He explained that, “With regards to the date of the presentation by the President, he will write to them and it will be when they confirm and then invite the President.”

Speaking further, the Minister said regarding implementation of the 2016 budget, “We had revenue constraints never the less, we have briefing regularly every month and up to today, we have paid all personnel in full.

“We made a good proportion of overheads and we have released almost N800M in terms of capital.”
