All is now set for the Africa Kids and Fashion week 2016 taking place in Lagos from December 9 to 11, 2016.

The African Kids and Teens Fashion Week is an event created to showcase the best of African fashion for kids and teenagers and it also gives talented designers a platform to showcase their design, promote their brands and raise their visibility on a global fashion stage, teaching the children and members of the society the beauty and value of our cultural heritage.

The event, packaged by SmartCode Africa, is aimed at showcasing promoting the best of African fashion for kids and teenagers and also projects the African fashion industry for kids and teenagers to the world.

The African Kids and Teens Fashion Week 2016 will be a 3-day event starting with a fashion summit to be held at the Ibis Hotel in Ikeja, Lagos. The second day will be a media parley while the third day will be the fashion show proper.

Exhibition for designers and companies with products that centre on kids and teenagers will be held on the same day of the fashion show which is December 11, 2016.

At the fashion show, organisers will provide a platform for African designers in the kids and teens fashion industry to showcase their outfits.

Apart from wonderful African designs that would be on display on the run way, brands will have the opportunity to meet with customers directly so as to market and sell their products at the exhibition stand.

Celebrity guests from the entertainment circle will also be part of this year’s fashion week, the organisers said.

According to a press statement issued by Mr Ajibola Akande, the Creative Director SmartCode Africa and the Organizer of AKTFW, “Teaching our children the beauty and value of our heritage, preparing them to be confident individuals is what we are after.”

“So the African Kids and Teens Fashion Week is an event created to showcase an intrinsic part of culture both parent and kids need to be more familiar with.

“We are committed to empowering and enlightening members of the society on the physical and non-physical abilities and inherent talents embedded in these future leaders.

“Our mission remains to showcase and promote African fashion for kids and teenagers all over the world. Like previous years, our designers and models are the best in their fields,” Mr Akande added.
