Osun at 25

President Muhammadu Buhari, on Thursday, September 1, 2016, commissioned a school in Osun State.

Mr Buhari is in the state to celebrate Osun at 25 with the people of the state.

Osun State was created from Oyo State on August 27, 1991, by the then Military President, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida.

As part of celebrating the state’s silver jubilee, Governor Rauf Aregbesola invited the President for the event.

At the ceremony held today, the President commissioned the Osogbo Government High School in the state capital.

Mr Buhari praised Mr Aregbesola for paying much attention to education, saying his legacy would be remembered in the state for a long time.

Also present at the ceremony were the Borno State Governor, Kashim Shettima; his Lagos State counterpart, Akinwunmi Ambode; and that of Oyo State, Abiola Ajimobi.

Osun State First Lady, Mrs Sherifat Aregbesola; the Deputy Governor of Osun State, Mrs Laoye Tomori and others were also among those present at the commissioning.
